Who we honor

Our volunteers have compiled our list of KIA's by searching historical military databases. In many cases, additional research was needed due to incomplete or incorrect data. Through genealogical and newspaper searches, we have been able to find additional service members that were otherwise missed. To date, we have included KIA's from the Korean War to present. We will be adding WWI and WWII in the near future.

The criteria for KIA Project Boston is as follows:

• Service member was killed in action
• Service member is laid to rest in Boston

In cases where the service member's remains have never been recovered (MIA), we honor them at an appropriate war memorial in Boston.
